Can you guess what it it? I hope so.
As predicted, we got a lot of snow last night and it’s not supposed to stop until tonight. Right now, about 11 am, my school reported that we have gotten about 19.5 inches so it’s safe to say that by the end of it, we’ll have 2-2.5 feet!
If you’re in this area, and you don’t want to be watching the local news forcast the entire day, I recommend going to the Capital Weather Gang site from the Washington Post or follow them on Twitter (@capitalweather). They release any updates that come in so it’s very timely and efficient.
For those of you who have lost power, you’re probably not looking at this, but for those lucky ones right now (me included- thank you!), write these numbers down in case you do lose power and need to report it.
Pepco: Outages, 1-877-737-2662
Allegheny Power 1-800-255-3443
Another good source to follow is DCist or @DCist_Updates on Twitter. They have recommend to try to clear your roof if its flat (and if you can safely). There have been collapses across the area including a skylight at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel and a private jet hanger at Dulles.
I’m just very thankful right now that since I live in a building, I have hot water, heat and electricity. I’m going to go snuggle up and do some work, but I’ll continue to post photos as the day progresses.
Be careful out there! Stay warm 🙂
